((Yeah, that's what I was worried about, because I wasn't sure how Moonstorm would take it.))
Ivorykit gazed at the lovely she-cat laying by the river. She understood how Moonstorm felt. Confused, somewhat lost, and missing the memories of past. Ivorykit should have guessed this would come. Moonstorm needed support, and that should be enough reason to explain the story of her parents' deaths.
"Well, Mountainshadow, my mother? I never knew her that well. I was the only one of her first litter. She just had an odd batch and only had me. But when I was about two moons old, one of the queens had a litter of kits. Two days after their birth, the camp was attacked by foxes. Mountainshadow died protecting that litter. But the kits survived and we won, driving the foxes out of our territory." You're halfway there. Ivorykit felt a tear run down her cheek. She had never stopped missing her parents, but she felt like they weren't with her, watching her. Or at least not now.
"Rainclaw, my dad, he wasn't really himself after Mountainshadow's death. He would drift off, kind of like what I see you do when you think about Rainpaw. Since she died, I had a foster mom, just to take care of me; make sure I had enough milk and food and stuff. But sometimes I would sneak out of the nursery and sleep with my dad. Sometimes I could hear him cry at night, and his dreams were troubled." Another tear ran down the she-kits face. "Later, he kind of got over mom. He and I became best friends. A couple moons later, he was sent to battle another clan. He was badly injured, his throat cut by an enemy cat. He...he didn't want help though. He just wanted me there to tell me something. After I was fetched and brought to him, he had but a few breaths of life left in him. He told me he loved me. More than anything in the world. I begged him to let us help him, let us let him live! But no, he wouldn't listen, he wouldn't. He said that he wanted to be with Mountainshadow so bad. His...his last words were...were that he'd say hi to mom for me. And...and...and then...he was gone."
Ivorykit was now sobbing hysterically. She never realized how much she missed them. Suddenly, she fainted, and lay at the banks of the river, unconsious, next to another sobbing cat.
