Slipstream, her striped tabby coat gleaming, crouched on river's edge, waiting for the distinct flash that would indicate a fish. She knew that the clan needed freshkill to add to the pile, and would at least bring back a fish or two if she could manage, maybe a mouse as well. Tail flickering back and forth, Slipstream kept her eyes fixed on the water's surface as it flowed past her. "There it is." She purred and she caught sight of her prey as it swam by. The she-cat warrior sprung from her spot, scooping the fish out of the water and onto the river bank. Bounding up from the water, she quickly finished her prey off. She pulled the fish over to a clump of reeds, hiding it there so she could pick it up after she found another mouse to take back as well. Slipstream then made her way along the edge of the water, looking for another fish. The clan could always use as much freshkill as was possible. She thought, wistfully, of the possibility that she would someday get an apprentice, to whom she could teach the techniques of fishing to. Maybe she would get a little she-cat, or maybe a tom. Slipstream had always thought that teaching a she-cat would be easier, but, as long as she got an apprentice, she didn't care either way.

Ivorykit sat beside a queen at the camp nursery, and gazed out toward the river. She could hear the water rushing past the nearby banks. Oh, this is so boring! I could be out there, fishing or learning to swim! But ever since my little "incident" I'm not allowed to go anywhere near the river until I'm an apprentice. But it'll only be a moon before my apprentice ceremony! Why can't I just try again? thought Ivorykit. Then the queen who was next to Ivorykit got up and went behind a bush to make dirt. This could be my only chance to get back out there again! And I'm going to take it! Ivorykit got up, and quiet as a mouse, ran off through the underbrush.
Ivorykit approached the river slowly, sensing another presence by the river. She peeked out of the reeds behind which she was hiding to see Slipstream bent over the river, fishing. Phew! I can trust Slipstream not to tell I left camp! Ivorykit popped out of the underbrush and hopped up next to Slipstream. "Hi Slipstream! Oh! You're fishing? Can you teach you teach me to fish? I know how to, just not really the right way with the right form. Well, I'm sure you've heard about that little incident." OOC:If you don't know about that incident, read "I'm Dying" in The River. BIC(Back in character?) Ivorykit shut up for a moment realizing she must be annoying Slipstream. So while she sat, not annoying Slipstream, she stared out at the river. Ivorykit counted the next three fish she saw pass by before she said anything again. "So. . . can you teach me? Please?"

[[Sorry for butting in, but I am bored and I don't think Slipstream is here.]]
There was a rumbling purr from behind the she-cats as Shadeheart padded out of the over grown bushes and set down the prey he had caught. "Ah, Ivorykit, what are you doing so far out of the camp?" His tail flicked with amusement and his pallid eyes were caught by the rapidly pulsing and rolling river. The white patch on his chest glowed in the sunlight, but the rest of his ebon pelt ate the light greedily, making him slightly uncomfortable. But, the tom switched his gaze from the river to the cats next to it. Slipstream and Ivorykit. He put on a stern look on his usually day-dreamy-like features and failed. Moving closer to the kit he looked back in the direction on the camp and sighed. This kit shouldn't be near the river. Hadn't she learned her lesson of escaping? I guess thats what kits are like, he thought. "Tell me, Ivorykit, what were you planning to do just now?" Shadeheart drew himself to his full height too look like a stern and aloof figure to the kitten.

Ivorykit whipped around at the sound of Shadeheart's voice. The thought of being caught by the river, again, terrified Ivorykit beyond reasoning. I've gotten into trouble too many times. What if Taintedstar is just fed up with me? "Oh! Hi Shadeheart. I was just talking to Slipstream. I love watching cats fish. That way, when I'm an apprentice, I won't have another incident involving water. I wasn't, say, breaking any rules. No, siree! No rule-breaking here, just me and ol' Slipstream." Ivorykit glanced at Slipstream, hoping she followed her drift. You idiot! What drift is there to follow! Shadeheart'll never buy that! Ivorykit glanced at the ground, avoiding Shadeheart's eyes. No! You want to be a good warrior, don't you? So take responsibility for your actions! It's your fault anyway. Ivorykit looked up from the muck, as fasinating as that is to look at, and gazed into Shadeheart's deep, golden eye's. Those eyes...they were so stern, so serious. And yet, they had a cheerful tease to them. Ivorykit forgot about her problem for a moment. She almost giggled out of fascination. But then she remembered she was in trouble. And willing to take the blame, she looked up at Shadeheart and said firmly, "I was trying to fish." Oh, StarClan, take me now!
OOC:I know that's kind of over-dramatic, but still...
