The long haired red and white she-cat pushed her way through the undergrowth; she tugged free from a low hanging branch. Rippedbelly hissed as some fur was pulled off along with the branch. Shaking her head she moved on towards the large pile of rocks. Rippedbelly bunched up her muscles and leaped op on the rocks. hunting for herds was hard when she was lone but she was getting use to it. She looked about wondering where she should start looking. "I could use help with this," she meowed heavily. "I might meet someone later down the road!"

Ironpaw law basking on a rock in the autumn sun, just enjoying having nothing at all to do. He heard a swish in the undergrowth and opened his mouth to catch a scent. Maybe he could hunt. The wind carried Rippedbelly's scent to him, and he stood up and stretched his muscles. He was bored, he should at least be doing something productive with his mentor. Ironpaw lept down from his perch and followed the medicine cat's scent. He saw the she-cat tugging her pelt from a branch a short ways away, and he padded after her. She led him to another group of rock farther into Sunningrocks. He perked up his head, hoping he could see any herbs for her. He couldn't see anything, so he hopped up next to his mentor. "Hi Rippedbelly!"

[Sorry i was busy with exams! GRRR..]
Rippedbelly turned around, taken back. She smiled at the young apprentice, gald that he had come. "Hello, Ironpaw. Nice to see you," she mewed to him happily. She sat down on the rock and warped her tail around her front paws. Then looked to him, "You wouldn't mind to help me looking for herds today?" she asked the young tom, wondering if he had other stuff to do. She shook the though from her head at once, a med. cat's apprentice have other work? As if! But he just might. "I'm running short on Ivy and Poppy Seeds." Rippedbelly meowed and as she waited, a idea jumped in her head; she suddenly grinned. "Do you want they do?"

"Poppy seeds make you sleep and they help ease pain, but I'm not sure what ivy does, though." Ironpaw looked around, surprised that he couldn't see any herbs. He scanned the underbrush and saw a patch of what looked like poppy seeds. He bounded over to them, calling to Rippedbelly. "Rippedbelly! I found some poppy seeds!" Ironpaw started collecting the seeds and waited for his mentor to come over. The wind shifted, blowing a cool breeze over the tom's fur. Ironpaw was thankful for the wind, and it carried many scents of leaf-fall. Ironpaw set aside a few seeds he had gotten and sat down, knowing if he took too much, it wouldn't grow as well next year. Ironpaw loved leaf-fall. While it had the horrible promise of leaf-bare arriving, it had so many wonderful other promises. The colors, the scents, and the prey. Rabbits seemed to taste better to Ironpaw in leaf-fall. The idea of rabbits left him drooling as he stared into the autumn sun.

Rippedbelly watched as Iornpaw leaped away towards a bush. she came to him when he called to her and looke dover the seeds. "Very good!" she meowed to him; she was impressed by his interest of herds. "Ivy is used to calm down cats, Iornpaw. Sometimes cats who get too uneasy or neroves after something big which happened to them, we give them Ivy." She said as she walked round, looking at the floor until she found a large leaf. "Here, you best place the seeds on here. Makes them easy to carry." Rippedbelly nodded to Iornpaw and placed the leaf beside the seeds. She shook her coat after another more stronger breeze blew pass them. Leaf-fall. It wasn't she didn't like it but sometimes she feel that the clans could do without it.
"After we find some Ivy we'll head back to camp and put them away before eating. Good plan?" She asked.

"Sounds fine to me!" Ironpaw looked at his mentor and thought how great a medicine cat she was. She alwayse asked his opinion and she had a fun-loving side. And she was a beautiful she-cat; her coat glistened in the breeze, making it shine. Ironpaw hopped on top of a high-up rock to see if he could spot any ivy. Yet another breeze blew through his fur. He took a deep breath, wait, something wasn't right. He sniffed the air, wondering what the scent was. Foxes? No, they were alseep this time of day. Twoleg monsters? No, sunningrocks was too far away from the Thunderpath. Badgers? There was an old set farther into the territory. maybe some unwanted guests had moved in. Ironpaw lept down from his perch and raced toward the scent. The smell carried him to the old badger set. There was the smell of badger, but it was very faint. What was that smell? ironpaw finally placed the scent. It was carrion. Ironpaw headed towards the scent, leading him to the river, the boundry between RiverClan and ThunderClan. There was a rotting fish on the bank, probably the remains of a loners meal. But ThunderClan wasn't a fishing clan, so it wasn't stolen prey. But Ironpaw wouldn't think it wise to leave it here. Rats could be attracted to it, and that isn't a good thing. Ironpaw looked around to ask Rippedbelly what they should do with it, when it occured to him. he'd left her at Sunningrocks! Had she followed him? He hoped so. But the she-cat knew her way around. Rippedbelly wouldn't get lost. So while he waited for his mentor, he started to dig a hole to bury the fish, hoping that that was what he should do.

Rippedbelly picked up the scent in the wind and hurried to catch up to Ironpaw. As she ran through the undergrowth the smell of something rotting reached her pink nose. She came to a stop and looked around, her green eyes landed on the fish. Somehow to her this didn't feel right. Fish left rotten in the sun? RiverClan warriors always ate their food after catching it or took back to their camp. Rippedbelly laid back her ears as she drew closer, "This isn't good." she muttered as she looked down at the fish. Rippedbelly shook her head to get the sickly smell out her nose and turned to Ironpaw who was busy digging a hole, "Here I'll dig the hole. You watch and make sure nothing comes around, RiverClan cats wouldn't leave food out like this! Something might be around..." she meowed and when to the other side of Ironpaw and started to dig, taking out large paw-fulls of dirt. She stopped once to see if it was the same size of the of fish then dug a few more paws of dirt out to make sure it would fit. "OK. I think that will do for the fish." Rippedbelly said sounding relieved.

"I agree with you. RiverClan wouldn't leave food ot like this. I originally thought a loner might have gotten to it and these were just remains, but a loner wouldn't pass up a meal. As a matter of fact, I don't think anything would." Ironpaw looked at his mentor, who was just finishing the hole. What would leave a meal lying on the river bank? No creature Ironpaw knew. "Maybe it was Twolegs. They sometimes fish here, maybe they left it on accident?" Ironpaw hoped that that was all the fish was. If not, there was sure to be trouble with something sometime. "We should tell Snowstar about this. What if the something is poisoning the water? We don't usually fish or drink here, but riverClan sure would like to know. And it could spread to the roots of the nearby plants." Ironpaw said nervously. The clan couldn't have any food or herbs poisoned. Not with leaf-bare on the way! But what if it did poison the herbs and plants? First it would be greencough, then blackcough. And then death. Whatever it was, it had to be stopped.

Rippedbelly nodded her head, "Yes. it might be Twolegs but still it could something else." She muttered, thinking about the different animals which could have left it behind, unable to think of any she looked to her gray apprentice, "I agree with you, Ironpaw. With the scent that fish is giving off it couldn't have gone unnoticed. We'll have to tell Snowstar right away." She got up and walked to the fish, taking it by the tail in her teeth. The fish's scent made her want to vomit but she held on and dragged the dead thing to the hole. Rippedbelly dropped the fish's tail in the hole first, "It's heavy but great does Starclan it smell bad!"
