Poisonclaw lept through the trees after the Twoleg kit who had his son tucked under his arm. "Ironkit!" yowled Poisonclaw. "Dad! Help me! I don't want to be a kittypet!" hollered Ironkit. But the Twoleg was getting farther and farther away from Poisonclaw. My son is going to be made into a kittypet. I'll never get to see him be apprenticed. He'll never be called by a warrior name. He'll never know the taste of his first kill or know the ways of the forest. Instead he'll be made into some Twoleg plaything! These thoughts gave Poisonclaw a burst of speed, shortening the distance between the Twoleg and himself to merely a few fox-lengths. But in his hurry, he stumbled right into a ditch. By the time he could get himself upright, the Twoleg kit was nowhere to be seen. Knowing that he would never find his son in this condition, he started to limp back to camp for help from Rippedbelly. Oh, great Starclan, what am I going to do?

Like in the nick of time, a figure stepped out from the brush. It was a quiet, and calm figure. She was a sad one as well. Greystreak, her love, had abandoned her. (Tyr left, so I am guessing he died...) He had passed away, and now Hazelpaw, Sunpelt's adopted neice, had left for Starclan as well. Was there nothing left to live for? She padded along, and came across a worried figure. Limping, the warrior seemed rushed, and quite overdone.
"Poisonclaw? What is the matter?" Sunpelt asked loyally. Her eyes flooded with worry, and she didn't know what to ask. Could she ask what happened? This tom seemed worn out, as if he had just chased something much faster than him. She scented fear, kit, and twoleg. A thought popped into her head. Ironkit! Had he been taken by a two-leg to become a kittypet? No. Poisonclaw would not give up. He would fight like a Tigerclan cat. But the warrior did have a limp. Did that mean that he was giving up. Sunpelt knew what these awful creatures did to innocent kits. They pampered them, and tortured them by dressing them up in pink gowns. Sunpelt would fight to gain Poisonclaw's trust and to save Ironkit.
"Whatever the matter, I can help."

"Thank you Sunpelt. I can't get to camp very quickly. Could you go fetch Rippedbelly? And ask her if she has any poppy seeds, please. I need to sleep." And having no energy to go any farther, he laid down right then and there. He wasn't sure if Sunpelt had left or not, for he was distracted by the loss of his son. What am I going to do? I can't just skip out on my warrior duties to go look for Ironkit. And if I just leave camp for a while, well, that won't be easy to explain toSnowstar. Or the rest of the clan for that matter. What will Crystalheart think? She was so happy to have a son that finally survived the brutality of the forest. How will she take the fact that now Ironkit is gone? I'm just taking it in, and she's much more sensitive than I am. Would the clan understand if I went to look for my son? After all I am one of the most loyal cats. Of course, not to be braggy. How would they take it if I left? Huhh, Exhausted by the bitter excitement of the day, Poisonclaw fell asleep.

((In the rules, it said ten non-dialogue sentences and I took that as comments by the person writing it, not by the cats talking. Sorry, I'll remember in the future!))

Poisonclaw awoke to Crystalheart's sweet face in the warriors den. "Oh, you're finally up. Where's Ironkit? Since you were asleep when Rippedbelly found you, we couldn't ask you where he was. There's a search party ((is that what you call it in warriors?)) out looking for him, but they haven't found him so far." Poisonclaw stared at Crystalheart's calm face, amazed at how well she was taking the fact that her only son is missing. I don't even know where he is...exactly. How am I supposed to tell the clan that a Twoleg took Ironkit!? Houhhhhh... "Crystalheart, I don't know where Ironkit is. I was just going out to hunt when I saw Ironkit by a patch of clover. None of the queens were out at the time. Then a Twoleg kit came through the bushes and grabbed Ironkit. I tried to catch him but, I kind of hurt my ankle." Crystalheart stared at Poisonclaw with obvious pain in her eyes. She took a deep breath, clearly trying not to cry. "We'll go after him, Crystal. I promise. We'll find him." said Poisonclaw. Crystalheart looked into Poisonclaw's eyes and thought deep thoughts. "I know we will."
Crystalheart sat in the nursery surrounded by sleeping queens. She stared out of the opening to the den and looked into the full moonshine of the night. The night wind played dancing shadows across the center of camp. The night was perfectly clear; not a cloud in sight. The moon stared down at Crystalheart, almost as if it were calling to her Go. Find him. it taunted her. Go. Crystalheart got up and stretched her limbs, as a distraction to keep herself from sobbing. It did no good. Crystalheart crawled into the warriors den and looked for Poisonclaw's sleeping spot. He layed there, eyes shut. Crystalheart padded over to her mate and curled up next to him. "You can't sleep either?" said Poisonclaw, frightening Crystalheart. "No. I can't stop thinking about Ironkit. I can't help remember waking up to the soft, gentle beating of his heart against my fur. I can't stop thinking about how he would always swat at my tail and how he would always miss and topple over onto the grass." Tears started to well once again in Crystalheart's eyes. "I know Crystal. I can't stop thinking about him either." Crystalheart leaned her head into Poisonclaw's and they wept themselves to sleep.
Ironkit stared out the window of the Twoleg home in which he had been trapped. He had been there for almost a week, and he had still seen no sign of his parents or clan. Oh, where are they? My mom I could understand not coming because technically she isn't a warrior yet. But dad should have come a long time ago. Well, dad is a loyal warrior. He wouldn't skip out on his duties. I'm sure that he's...um...hunting for the clan right now. Yeah, that's what he's doing. thought Ironkit, trying to reassure himself. He thought those thoughts over and over again in his head. After a while he set his head on the window pane and sighed, fogging up the glass. Oh, who am I kidding? The clan isn't looking for me. I was just some scrawny little kit who was lucky enough to make it through leafbare. They've probably already forgotten me. Ironkit hopped down from the window pane and jumped onto the floor, realizing he was hungry. I hate doing this but, I'm a lost cause. I may as well get used to this kittypet food. In previous days, Ironkit had gone outside into the Twolegs garden and had caught a squirrel and two finches. If I ever do get back to camp, Dad will be so proud of my hunting skills! Ironkit looked outside through yet another sheet of glass to see that there were no creatures out in the garden. Moaning inwardly, Ironkit went into what he had heard the Twolegs call "the kitchen" to where his food was. He hadn't taken a bite of this all week, just a few sips from the bowl of water that the Twolegs had sat out for him. Well, here goes. Ironkit took the tiniest bite possible out of the bowl and swallowed quickly. Ironkit paused for a moment, puzzled. Everyone at camp says that kittypet food is horrible. I don't know what they're talking about. This is good! thought Ironkit as he ate the rest of the dish ravishingly. Ironkit smacked his lips when he was done and laid down on a rug in the sun that reminded Ironkit of his mother's warm fur, and fell asleep.
((Snowstar and Poisonclaw are going to talk in the leaders den to continue onto the story.))
((All righty, Snowstar approved, I'm gunna look for Ironkit!))
Poisonclaw sat down next to his mate on the border to the Twoleg's territory. They gave each other a few comforting licks, worry in both of their eyes. "Where should we start?" asked Crystalheart. Poisonclaw didn't want to admit it, but he was just as clueless as his mate was. "Umm...maybe we should just start looking throughout their strange clans." "Seems reasonable." said Crystalheart shakily. So they stepped out of the safety of Tallpines and went up to the first creature. "How do we know where he'll be in this giant thing?" Poisonclaw had wandered around the territory and had seen Twolegs and their kits looking out of a sheet of glass to the outside from the edges of Tallpines. "Let's look through the sheet of glass. Maybe we'll be able to see him." said Poisonclaw. Poisonclaw loved his mate and son so much, but he had never been so scared in his life. But the thought of his only son being turned into a kittypet, wearing a frilly pink dress and bonnet! Poisonclaw lept up to the ledge and peered through the window. he couldn't scent any trace of Ironkit, nor could he see anything of him. Well, there arent't that many creatures to look in. Poisonclaw looked over his shoulder to see hundreds of houses in neat little rows. Huhh. This is going to take moons! "Is he there?" called Crystalheart. "No, not this one." he said, jumping down from the ledge to the ground. "Oh, how will we ever find him!" cried Crystalheart, trying not to cry. "Keep looking, that's how. You check that one, I'll look at this one." Crystalheart and Poisonclaw searched all day with no progress. "He's not anywhere near camp. We'll have to look farther away from ThunderClan." It was nearly moonrise, so Crystalheart and Poisonclaw curled up together at the base of a tree in front of a creature, and fell asleep.
Ironkit dreamed that night. He saw his parents in front of a "house", as the Twolegs called it. The house was very similar to some in the place he was trapped in. "Ironkit! Ironkit!" they cried. "I'm here! I'm here! Come on! Find me! Help me!" But they walked right past him, unaware of his being. "No! No! I'm here!" Ironkit jolted awake to see, none other than, him. The dog. "Ugghhh..." moaned the kit. The Twolegs had not only trapped him, but they had a dog in addition. So far, the waste of fur had caused him no trouble, but he was an annoying, yappy thing. "Ohyou'reupIdidn'tevennoticeyoulookkindasadwhatareyousadabout?" said the dog, jumping up and down. "Would you just shut up?" "OhI'msorryIdidn'tknowIwasbotheringyoudon'tyouwanttoknowhowIcantalkyou'relanguagehuhhuhhuh!?" "Will it shut you up?" "OhyesyesyesIllbequietasamousethosedisgustingthingsyoueat." "Sure. How do you know my language so well?" Please don't let it be a long explanation! "WellI'velivedwithcatsbeforeyoubuttheyallranawayorgotold." The dog paused with his head cocked in confusion. "Asamatteroffact...youactuallylookalotlikeonethatranawaytheonethatranintotheforestIseeher theresometimesontheedgeoftheforestwhenmyhumanswalkme." Ironkit sat up, instantly alert. "Really, what did she look like, the one that ran away?" said Ironkit fiercly. "Wellshehasthesameeyesasyouwhitefurwithblacksplotchesandhercoatwasreallyclean." "Did you hear anything she said, anything?" "IheardhersaysomethingbutIcouldn'tmakeitoutsomethingaboutclansandSnowstarandhervoicewas verysweetandmellow." "Huhh! That's mom! How long ago did you see her?" "AboutaweekagomyhumansweretalkingmeonareallylongwalkbytheforestandIsawherwithanothercatthat looksjustlikeyou." "Huhh! She was with dad! They're looking for me! I've gotta find them!" "HeyifyouneedmyhelpIcanbecausefranklyIwantyououtofhereourvoiceisveryannoying." "Oh, really?"
"Come here, kitty! Come here!" cooed the Twoleg kit. "My name's Ziggy and I will not come to you! I live alone!" mewled the loner. The Twoleg bent down and carried Ziggy off to the house. "No! No! Put me down!" Crystalheart woke with a jolt. "Poisonclaw! Poisonclaw!" Crystalheart just about pounced on her mate trying to wake him when his eyes flashed open. "What! I was just having a wonderful dream of catching a fox! A fox, Crystal! Come on!" "But Poisonclaw, there is one creature we haven't checked. We went right past it when we left camp." "Which house!?" "Mine."
"You remember the day we first met, when you saved me from that dog? Well before that, I had run away from a kittypet home that I had been trapped in. I'm positive that that is the house Ironkit is in. You said the Twoleg kit was young, right?" "Yes." "That Twoleg kit is the proper age to be the one who picked up Ironkit! Ironkit is in this house." Poisonclaw looked at Crystalheart with a questioning look. "How can you be sure?" "Poisonclaw, I had many snarls when I was a loner. I wouldn't dream of this one out of pure coincidence. StarClan sent me this dream, I'm positive." Crystalheart looked into her mates eyes, silently begging him to understand. "Well then, we'd better get moving." Poisonclaw jumped up. "You lead the way." With that statement the pair of cats ran off towards Ironkit.
"What's your name anyway? I never really pay much attention to you." said Ironkit to the dog. "MynameisScruffymyhumansnamedmethatbecauseofthetextureofmyfur." "Okay, all I needed was your name. But you said you'd help me get out of here, but how do you propose we do that? The Twoleg kit follows me constantly, and when he's not, they shut all the ways out." "NonotallofthemIhaveawayoutsowhenthetwolegsasyoucallthemleaveforalongtimeIcangooutside." "Really? How." "Mydoggiedoor." Scruffy walked over to the door that lead into the garden and walked right out of a thin, black sheet of rubber and walked right back in. "Thats great, but one problem. I'm too light to move it. You dogs are heavy enough to move that, but I couldn't break a piece of wood." It was true. Cats are much lighter than dogs, much more so for forest cats who didn't eat that fattening kittypet food. "Well, um...let's try this. You walk out, and very slowly, I'll walk under you." "ThatwontworkbecauseI'mshortyou'renearlyastallasme." "Good point. Well, what if you walked out backwards, and as you went out, you could bite the rubber and hold it up for me." Heck, it's worth a shot. So Scruffy tried it, and it worked! Ironkit was out in the garden, but know a new problem arose. Climbing the Twolegs brick fence. "WellIcantclimbsoyoureonyourownwiththisone." "Thanks for all your help Scruffy. I guess I wont see you later." The dog nodded farewell and went back into the house. Ironkit looked around him to see one very unsturdy tree in the corner of the yard. If that breaks, I could easily break something. But there's no other way out. So Ironkit crouched down and leaped as high as he could, and gripped his claws into the bark, swaying dangerously. But Ironkit persisted, and climbed onto a branch that lead right over the fence, and jumped down, right onto another cat. "Mom!"
"And then I jumped onto you." said Ironkit, telling the story of his moon away from camp. "But how did you know where to find me?" "I don't know if you know this, but I once stayed in that house." said Crystalheart, purring at the return of her son. "Yeah. I know, Scruffy told me." "That dog is still there? OhmyStarClanthewayhewouldtalkitjustranonandonandon!" said Crystalheart mockingly. The mother and son burst into laughter. "Umm...okay." said Poisoclaw. "It's almost moonrise. I think we should sleep here tonight, see if we can catch something tomorrow morning, and then head back to camp. We should be back in a day or so." "Alright." said all three in unison. So the trio curled up to go to bed, just happy to be with one another again.
((Ironkit is back know, and the family of cats is talking to Snowstar in the leaders den again.))
((Man, that was a really long post.))
