Dreams, the bliss of being to escape reality, and slip into your mind's version of the world. Mystery loved her mind, it had created it's own little world, and she loved. Full of darkness and chaos, Mystery only felt at home in her dreams. But tonight, no dreams came, and Mystery had a troubled sleep. Without dreams to guide her into the soft, peacefull breathing that most called sleep, she was lost. All night she was tossing this way and that. thrashing her legs silently, she didn't want to cause a rucus. Mystery, contorl yourself! Her mind spoke to her, You know that dreams don't always come, you've got to learn to deal with it! Her mind was right, when dreams didn't come, she was nothing. Picking up her legs underneath her, she stood up, and shook the moss from her pelt. Dark green eyes glinted with sadness, pain, and anger. Mystery was remembering her mother. Shaking her head to try and banish the thoughts, she began to stare out at the stars. Well StarClan, looks like you've sucseeded. She mewed silently, You've managed to kill my brothers, mother, and if the pattern continues, looks like I'm next. Hissing at the stars outside the warrior's den, Mystery began to groom herself. This didn't calm her down, but it prevented her from yowling out to the whole forest, and making a fool of herself. With long, wet licks down her flank, Mystery could almost feel her mother's soft pelt beside her.

Chaos' eyes flickered open. For a second, she wondered why she had awoken. Then she felt wriggling movement at her side. She turned over and saw Mystery, who was just sitting up, apparently either oblivious or unconcerned that she was keeping her fellow warriors from sleep. She sighed. From all signs, the small she-cat didn't plan to settle down. Chaos would have to move. She did, but not before hissing over her shoulder at Mystery, "Thanks a lot, mousebrain! You have just succeeded in depriving me of yet another night's sleep!" That done, she curled up in the corner of the den farthest from Mystery and attempted to fall back asleep.

Spiderbreath had been sleeping, and peacefully at that - something that had hardly ever happened before, in the days when she would slink around silently and run from all possible conversational felines. Her rattling breath had softened somewhat, lessening to a purring sound, and had filled the entire den with its rumbling tone. Even if it kept some awake, she didn't care much. Before, she had kept all awake on some nights, rolling around on herself and trying to push her skinny frame into the farthest corner possible, her movement causing the bush they were sleeping in to shiver and rattle like the branches of a tree in a No-leaf gale. At least now she was calm and serene, settled into the groove of her nest like a kit in the comical mess of its brothers and sisters. Her streaked side rose and fell steadily in smooth rythm, crimson paws twitching occasionally as her dream switched to and fro from one topic to another, just as she remembered it had been once long ago, before the fear and misery came. A soft smile was displayed on a vermilion maw, showing her happiness more obviously than the relaxed look of her entire figure and the slight motions of her brown audits flickering from side to side as different sounds assailed her sense, entering her mind and changing her nocturnal imagery. Everything was so different now. So changed. So... beautiful. Yes, that had to be it. Beautiful. She'd gone hunting with Hazelblaze. Hadn't wanted to at first, since she was terrified of the company of other cats for some reason unknown even to her, but she couldn't really say no, and something had told her that this time would be different. But she had run off anyway, sneaking out of the camp, and hiding in the rubbish of the Carrionplace, the thick scent of crowfood and prey hiding most of her own aroma. But still the tom had found her, and so the two had begun hunting. And with some strange twist of the story... she had ended up asking for his help. And he had agreed. It was all so delightful, so absolutely amazing, that she could hardly believe it herself. But it was true. So very true. And for once in her life, after so many moons of fear and concealment, she felt happy... utterly, entirely happy. Yet her night was disturbed yet again, though not by her own paranoid thoughts of betrayal and fiendish plots. The twisting, tossing form of another feline was waking her just as her own had woken many others before, and she felt for the first what it was like to be pulled out of exquisite rest quite brutally because another wasn't able to sleep. She didn't feel anger just yet. That would come later, when she was adapted to this joy that filled her to the brim and overflowed. Right now, only pity filled her heart, and a sense of understanding. She had gone through the same things, experienced that unease that wouldn't let you close your eyes and sink into soft oblivion. She she opened a single amber eye, and then the other, to see who was causing the sound and movement. Mystery. She should have known. That was the only other cat she knew about that had occasional insomnias. She watched silently as the ebony feline got to her feet, padded outside and began washing herself, and sent an indifferent glance in Chaos' direction. There was another she-cat that wasn't having a peaceful night. But she didn't interest her at the moment. Turning back so that Mystery was back in her field of vision, she let a single sentence leave her mouth. But even that was enough to send her retreating back into her shoulders, scared that the other might snap at her for caring. "Are you alright?"

The she-cat's ginger, dark brown and white head whipped around, dark olive eyes peering into the darkness of the warrior's den to see who had spoken. It took only a few moments, and Mystery almost hissed in anger when she saw Spiderbreath in the shadows. Of course, her firey temprement would surely unleash into screams of anger, and the odd coloured cat waited for her anger to wash over her. But it didn't come. At first the female was confused; her mind had always allowed her to ridacule or mock other cats before, why was this time any different? Your lonely, that's why you stupid thistle-brain! Her inner voice hissed at her, and the warrior sighed heavily. Yes, she was lonely, even though she would never admit it to anycat. For so long she had longed for company, but none of her clanmates ever set aside some time to greet her, or even ask if she was alright. Well, until now that is. Mystery had woken Spiderbreath from sleep, and the other she-cat still had the heart to ask her if she was alright. "Ugh. I'm fine, I guess." The growl rumbled deep in her throat, and the female turned her gaze toward the ground, trying to hide her smile. For once, Mystery was happy, for somecat had actually seemed to care about her.

((Sabbath - it's a cat peeking out of the grass. And thankies!)) Chaos glowered, somehow managing to scowl while still keeping her eyes firmly closed. It wasn't enough that Mystery had to wake her, now the she-cat had to start a conversation with Spiderbreath! Their voices, shrill in her ears, were corkscrewing right to the center of her fatigue headache. Couldn't a cat get any sleep around here? She was about to snap out a blistering comment when the idea occured to her to actually listen to what they were saying. And it was a strange conversation indeed. Spiderbreath, who normally would've taken Chaos's stance any day, actually sounded sympathetic! Hmmm. A new idea occurred to her - could she try sympathy, too? It couldn't be that hard - she herself had spent many a night awake, afraid of the dreams that would come again if she closed her eyes. Besides, maybe if Mystery got whatever was bothering her out of her system, maybe they could all get some sleep. "Mystery - what's wrong? You never tossed and turned like this before!"
