The complete and utter darkness covered the ShadowClan camp completely, all things that were darker then a light shade of grey were virtually invisible. A slight breeze fooled with stray leaves, tossing them this way and that across the barren clearing, a slight rustling noise being it's only avail. Younger trees slowly swung back and forth in unison, like pendulums, keeping the beat of the living earth going. The soft 'swish' sound of the leaves was like a drum, pulsing along with the beat, keeping the ear alert. Through the symphony of rhythms came an uneven sound, an imperfection in the pure night sounds. A living mistake, something that wasn't meant to be. Yes, she was used to these titles, she was the stain on the earth, the tainted oil in the flowing water of clan life, it was all very familiar. Emerging from the dank shadows, an oddly coloured she-cat stalked out into the open, her white, ginger and grey complexion of fur making her break up the darkness around her. Olive orbs flashed this way and that, a minorly treacherous mood set into the green depths of her eyes. Mystery had just awoken from a dream, a wonderful, sickly-sweet dream.
Everything was black in the forest, save the far away sight of burning embers, slowly licking their ways up the tall trees, causing a sudden flame to burst from what seemed like nowhere. Black trees were highlighted against the background of red flame, and the silhouettes of helpless cats scattered to and fro, completely confused and terrified. Littering the ground were the dead bodies of many cats, old and young alike, all of their faces screwed to unrecognizable proportions. The screams and wails of horror echoed off what seemed like the walls of Mystery's dream, containing her victims from escaping their torture. A huge rock appeared, Royalrock to be exact, and a single cat stood aloft it, unharmed, happy, and merciless. Mystery. A roar of what should belong to a tiger erupted from her maw, and silenced all other sounds. This she-cat ruled all.
Alas, that was the farthest that the illusion had lasted, when it had torn itself away from the warrior, taunting her by not letting the mock-reality continue. The angry feline had then stormed out of the warrior's den, and out into the clearing, where she had interrupted the steady beat of nature. She didn't care, why should she? Nothing deserved respect from her. Well, save on cat. Feroux had helped her overcome her fear, he had helped her push out the haunting shadows in her mind. Yes, her dreams no longer opposed her, they ran smoothly with her; body and soul. Head raised to look at the black-clouded sky above, heart sinking as no stars shone through the muggy blanket of clouds. Ah, that was another thing her clanmate had helped her with; StarClan no longer existed to this cat. They used to taunt and tease her, now stars were just stars, beautiful, shining stars. Nothing more, nothing less.
Shaking her head away from the peaceful thoughts of the glittering lights above, her mind set back to the currant task of fuming. Dark green eyes flicked toward the great boulder before her, and her gaze locked onto her chosen target of sight. In her dream, she had conquered all from atop this rock, nothing had opposed her. Through the ebony tones of the night, a beacon of marvelous treachery shone through, could it have been a sign? Spirits lifting, Mystery continued to study the great stone, for maybe one day, her wildest dreams just might come true.
