Slipstream's green-gold eyes were scanning around the Warriors' Den as she vigorously licked her chest. She had watched a couple of the apprentices, but then the she-cat warrior had retired to the den. She really, really wanted to have the privilege to train an apprentice. However, she would wait for as long as needed to be given one. Slipstream finished cleaning her chest and moved to lick her paws instead. Later, Slipstream decided, she would go out and hunt for fish and mice to bring back for the clan. They would need freshkill, since the pile was rather low.

Nightrain padded into the den. It was warm here, and the windy day outside was quite a dissapointment. He yawned, tongue stretching out, white teeth glistening. "You know Slipstream, Hazelkit is six moons old today (see to fight a rock under center of camp) , and I do hope you get her as your apprentice." He could tell that she wanted an apprentice, but wouldn't she rather wait longer, for lets say... Cirruskit? That she-kit was no where near as bouncy as the orphan, but he knew that Hazelkit would do whatever it takes to please her mentor. He had tried to teach for somethings in the past, and she was very calm and collected. None of the other warriors believed him, especially the queens. They lived with the kit for some time, and knew that she was always bouncy. Or so they thought. They didn't see the calm side of Hazelkit. But would she show her calm side, or simply bounce off every tree like a hyper active squirrel?

White eyes flashed out of the corner of the den. A fairly all white cat, with the exception of her paws, lifted her head in order to see the two cats mewing. Silpstream and Nightrain. Though Archfoot had not been in the Warrior's Den for long, the heat of all of the other cats' bodies was seeping through his fur. "I agree." Came her voice from the far side of the den. "Silpstream would do efficiently as a mentor. Any cat to be apprenticed by her would do grand in life." Even though Archfoot died to have one of her own, she wouldn't push it. She would ask the leader later if her time had come, but for now, she was just a plain warrior serving her Clan.

After coming back from the Great Rock, Nightrain hoped that Slipstream wouldn't be too dissapointed that she wasn't chosen for Hazelpaw's mentor. Moonriver would make a strict and excellent mentor for Hazelpaw, but he couldn't help feeling that it was he whom had given Slipstream false hope. Would Hazelpaw have been better off with Slipstream? Or was Taintedstar's choice the best that it could possibly be? What was in store for the newly apprenticed she-cat? Would her fate end in cruelty and dishonor?

Archfoot took no more heed to the conversation as he drifted back off to La La land. His dreams were of prey scattered around all in the one place. A puddle? Who cares? Archfoot said in his dream. It is just a dream! He woke up later finding that the den had still occupied by the same cats, only they had only moved about an inch. Archfoot shook her whole entire body and rested her head on her paws. Her tail was curled around her body, which was gathered slowly to her face as it covered her nose. She closed her eyes as the tail hairs almost flicked her irises. She was in deep slumber in no time,
