Through the cracks of the wood did the rays of light enter as a low meow was heard throughout the barn. A black and white cat with ruffled fur rose her head from her sleeping spot, giving another yawn of meow. Lazily, she got on all fours and made her way down a very old ladder, seeming to break at any moment. But Ace made her way down anyways, not seeming to care if the item were to break apart under her and send her falling onto the floor. Finally she made it onto the second floor of the barn and quietly made her way to the large wooden doors. She came out of the building and sat a few inches away from it watching the sunrise.
She will always do such a procedure everyday since she defeated the rogues that had planned to kill her. 'Grant this day a time of peace, the same as you grant the shadows with light, please let these wishes of mine come true..' these words passed through her mind as she made a deep bow of respect toward the sun, staying in that position for a few minutes. She then shot her head up and turned around walking back to her home. A blur of red caught her eye as she turned towards it to see a flower, it was little, barely visible. It was growing though and she thought that this might be a sign from nature saying that her wishes may come true.
She kept on her walk inside as she took in the scent of mice, and she quickly went over to a fresh scent close by. There was at least seven mice in a corner squeaking to each other. Ace didn't even use her stealth and quickly unsheathed her claws, slashing out at the group of mice. Three of them flew high as Ace caught one in her mouth, one landed near her paw and she quickly caged him in with her claws while the last one was able to escape. Taking her time, Ace ate the first mice and ate the second one as soon as she was finished with the first.
Once more, she came outside of the barn and walked her way up to a pond close by, taking her sip of water. Once she finished she looked over at the forest, the one she was usually prohibited to be in like the tom had told her. But the tom himself went in there and who knew what had happen to him, she herself had trespassed the forest more than once for certain things. She walked up to it and sat, looking up at the trees, what was behind those trees that she claimed to be a forest she could not tell but she was sure it might be something deadly. She kept on staring at the tree as she went deep in thought, 'What lays behind you I may never know, the deadly silence I gain from you tells me to disappear from sight but my curiosity has always been trouble..' she mentally told herself, yet she set no paw upon the land but only stared at the tree as if it could speak to her any second now.
Then she slowly turned to the barn stating a few words in a whisper, "May it be wrong to have guessed upon you..". A few minutes after, drops of water began falling outside, tainting the forest in darkness. It wasn't until a thunder struck that Ace turned to look outside, when finally she heard a booming type of sound coming from the Rolling Fields. She looked towards that direction when suddendly she heard thunder as lightning came across the Rolling Fields. She closed her eyes as she went into thought, 'The presence of two can be seen by their rage.. more than one is there, had it not been for both the lightning would not have strucked..' after this thought she spoke once more, "Pity the fool who has been struck with light, yet pity is unnecessary when he who interfered with him is no better" she said to herself, quietly curling into her sleeping position.

Ace had made it back after having ventured out to one of the territories of the clans close by. She had been grateful that the tom of the clan had let her go so easily. She even enjoyed that she was actually able to talk to someone. Quietly she went up the old ladder leading to the first floor of the barn. While there she curled in a tight ball as the moon shined through the window and onto her pelt.
Soon she was asleep but her dreams weren't too peaceful. Ace was in the grass plains again, this time no one was around her but she could see the sunrise. She was full with glee as she saw it but shadows that were once hidden under the light of the sun only grew larger. Ace could see it start to surround her and she quickly went into a run across the field. The she-cat kept on running but every step she took only seemed small as the shadows came closer to her.
She kept on, her paws aching with pain for some reason as she tripped over a rock making her fall into a river. Now, the shadows had trapped her as they pushed her down into the waters. 'They intent to, kill me?!' these thoughts intruded her mind as she tried kicking the shadows. It didn't work and she could feel herself gasping for air, desperately trying to free herself at the same time. But soon, she started spinning and she shut her eyes tightly as she whirled around.
She wished for it all to end but it didn't stop, soon she felt unconscious as time went on. That's when she opened her eyes as she saw black, darkness, and silence. Then a dot of light penetrated it, growing huge in size as a clear view showed her the river she had fallen in when everything went blank. Then she felt her pulse in the background, she was sure that was her heartbeat. And then.. it stopped.
Ace awoken with a gasp as she looked around. She was still in her home, hay here and there, even the squeaking of mice. The dream she had seemed and felt so real, but it has also frightened her, she couldn't understand what it meant. 'It's okay.. it was a dream.. a dream..' she told herself this as she layed her head upon her paws and closed her eyes. She didn't get much sleep throughout the night but she was scared, not wanting for that dream to come to her again, but she finally fell asleep as the night kept on.
