Cirruskit narrowed her eyes at the brown, speckled rock. Crouching down, Cirruskit prepared to pounce. Ears pricked up, she wiggled her bottom before pouncing. This is how she had seen some of the apprentices pouncing. She wanted to imitate them exactly.
Lurching off the ground, she bashed the rock with her front claws. She scratched the rock with her hind paws and gave it one big bash. It soared off the ground and bounced back off a tree. It flew back toward her and she smoothly sidestepped to avoid the flying rock. Creeping around the rock, she attacked it from the "back" and made as if to bite it. However, just before her teeth made impact, she remembered that this was a ROCK.
"Better not do that!" she exclaimed. "No breaking MY teeth!" Giving it one more good bash, Cirruskit decided the rock was dead. "Aha! That's what you get for trespassing onto RiverClan territory." She sat over the rock, contented with her battle.

"Thank you,oh great Cirruskit, for ridding us of yet another trespassing rock!" Taintedstar meowed, putting her front paws forward and bowing.
A smile was set upon her maw,and she was in an unusually happy mood. Her amber opticals shed warmth as she gazed down at the kit.The sun was warm against her long fur, which shone a bright shade of brown in the light, with only a few dark specks here and there.
Her tail lashed blissfully as she sat down on her haunches, and casually coiled around her front paws. Her long hooked claws gleamed in the sun's radiance.Taintedstar appeared to be happy, and enjoying the sun's warmth-like any other Clan cat.Her amber opticals narrowed with pleasure of Clan bliss, and she absorbed the sun's warmth for a second before opening them again and staring down at the young Cirruskit.
"How old are you,Cirruskit?" Was the question that exceeded from her maw. With so many kits in the RiverClan camp,it was nearly impossible to keep track of them all without going insane. The chirping of an early cricket sounded in the distance, which reminded Taintedstar of how young the day was.She needed to organize patrols and hunting parties before the day wasted away without any fresh kill in the pile!
Her ear flicked in annoyance as she remembered her duties as a leader. Why me?, Was the only thought running through her head at the moment.

Cirruskit's eyes gleamed as she looked up at the Clan leader. She pushed the rock to the side before responding to Taintedstar. "I'm about 4 and a half moons old now." Cirruskit replied. "Almost old enough to be an apprentice, right? My paws are falling off from me waiting so long!"
Her long tail swished happily over the ground. It was true though. Cirruskit couldn't wait to be an apprentice. She knew there were never exceptions for over eager kits, but maybe, just maybe, Taintedstar would see how ready she was to be an apprentice. A cricket hopped by, and Cirruskit surpressed the urge to chase after it. She could always find another cricket later. Besides, they were half as much fun as butterflies.

Sighing in resignation, she halted her thoughts and turned back to face the kit with warm eyes. Her tail flicked to the side as she answered Cirruskit's eager question.
"Not quite almost, but close enough. And I can tell you can't wait until you truly become one," she added with a smile, dark amber orbs gleaming. Young cats were always so full of energy, jumping about, impatient about the day they would become apprentices, and then the moment they would go into the warrior's world. She felt guilty at the fact that she couldn't accept them into apprenticeship until they were six moons old. Her brown ear flicked as she thought about this. Couldn't she make an exception, just for once.
But her mind's answer was, of course, negative.
No, I can't. Then all the other kits would feel left out. And it would go against the Warrior Code, which would anger Starclan. I simply can't do it.
Another sigh escaped her maw, this time of faint sadness, but she gace the kit an encouraging smile as she tried to continue the conversation.
"I'm sure you do things, though. No?" she added with a hint of sarcasm. It would be strange for any kit to do nothing. They were always playing about, hiding, pretending they were the brave warriors of long ago. And asking a kit what they did was already a hint about their personality.

Cirruskit sighed inwardly. Of course she did things, but nothing compared to what apprentices did. To her leader though, she didn't voice her thoughts, fearing the chance she might sound whiny.
"Well, yeah. You know, the other kits always want to play. But you can't help looking at the apprentices and thinking 'Wow, they're lucky!', you know? Of course, banishing rocks is a very important duty.... but being a warrior seems... well, I don't know. More exciting?"
The kit grinned up at the leader. No doubt about it, it was fun being a kit. She didn't want to give the wrong impression. It was just that she was so eager to have a grand adventure and fufill some prophecy or another, like the great warriors of the past. Another cricket bounded past her. Cirruskit could not resist. She crouched down and pounced, catching the thing under her paw. Remembering that she wasn't alone, Cirruskit tried to continue a healthy conversation.
"You see, there's a great method behind this. Cricket can be just a little trickier than normal prey. Yeah, they're not edible, but they're good practice. See," she lifted her paw and released the cricket. "they jump all over the place, so it's hard to pin down where they're gonna go. Second, they're so small. It's a tad bit harder to catch the little sneaks." Crouching as the cricket began to hop away again, Cirruskit pounced and caught it under her paw again. "You don't want to bite 'em either. They taste pretty yucky..."
Proudly the white, energetic kit released the creature again. "Besides, since they're just a plaything, it's not nice to kill 'em. The way I catch these things, if I killed 'em all, there'd be no more crickets from here to... I dunno, Fourtrees!" the kit boasted.
Cirruskit stepped aside from the cricket. Curiosity gleaming in her eyes, the white kit offered, "You want to try?"

Hazelkit burst into the clearing. Her head was about to pop off in excitement. "Taintedstar! Taintedstar! Guess what?!?" She said, totally ignoring Cirruskit in her burst of happyness. "Taintedstar! You won't believe what one of the Queens told me! I don't know why she was so excited to get me out of the nursery, but I am six moons old!" Hazelkit yowled, skipping and doing a little dance. She couldn't wait to be an apprentice. (She actually is six moons old. She was five when I created her. And today or sometime in this week, she is six moons old! ^^) Her tail twitched, and just realized that Cirruskit was there. Breathing heavily, the panting she-cat attempted to control her excitement. She was only a kit/apprentice you know. One day she would become a noble warrior, bold, and calm. But right now, that seemed a long way off. (I don't know iff that is 10 sentances, but it is a little hard to write any more)

Cirruskit narrowed her eyes. Her tail swished furiously as Taintedstar's attention reverted to the excited Hazelkit. Her claws sank into the ground angrily and her teeth grated against one another. Her white pelt twitched and her ears pulled back. Cirruskit could almost sense the black cloud invading her mind. Noticing how her body posture had changed and how menacing she would look to the other cats, she straightened up. Sheathing her claws, Cirruskit perked her ears back to normal and tried to force herself into a happier posture. In case they had noticed the brief flash of jealousy that took over the kit's body, Cirruskit thought up a story.
"Darnit! The cricket got away." Cirruskit said. Then, pretending she hadn't noticed her kitmate, she acknowledged Hazelkit's presence. "Oh hey they, Hazelkit. Sorry, I was just sort of wrapped up in this here cricket. I was telling Taintedstar how tricky they can be, and the correct method of catching them." Hurriedly, she added, "Not that Taintedstar wouldn't already know how, but you know...."
Cirruskit was angry with herself. How could she let herself be jealous? Hazelkit had never been anything but nice to her. And if Hazelkit was 6 moons old, then she deserved to be an apprentice. But I was talking to Taintedstar first. It's not fair. She could've waited her turn. Besides, it's not like I wouldn't be a great apprentice too! Even if I am not quite 6 moons old yet. Shaking her head, Cirruskit cleared the thought from her head. I've got to stop doing this!

(Cirruskit is going insane!!! sorry. Just brought back old memories of talking to myself, and telling myself that if I did this much more, I would go crazy!)
Hazelkit began to calm down. "Oh. Sorry Cirruskit. I was just that... Oh I didn't mean for it to get away! Please forgive me Cirruskit!" Hazelkit begged. She had always been one for trying to make friends, but her not-thinking-habit had lost alot of them. Hazelkit could MAKE friends easily. It was keeping them that was her problem. Hazelkit was ashamed of herself. She knew that all kits loved to have attention, if they didn't, then they should have a medicine cat check them! Especially from a leader. How could Hazelkit be so stupid?
Guilt flooded Hazelkit like boiling water. IT stained the inside of her, the pain of the guilt blocked the searing (SPELLING ALERT) hot water. She felt as if she could ahve shriveled up and died, blowing away in the breeze. "So Cirruskit... You know how to catch crickets? I caught a bee once, but I quickly regretted it. It bit me... I think. It left a thorn in me afterwards." Hazelkit said, showing Cirruskit her paw, where a small hole had been punctured in the pad.

((Searing is spelled okay.))
Moonriver, always close at paw, heard the excitement over his shoulder, and turned to look up. Quickly, he noticed that his leader was speaking to two kits. TAINTEDSTAR WAS SPEAKING TO TWO KITS!!!! The thought sunk in suddenly, as he realized that this probably meant that there would soon be an apprentice. Moonriver always wanted an apprentice, and he longed to teach a fellow clan cat. After all, RiverClan would need all the warriors they could get! He streched(sp?) lazily, trying to assume an unexcited pose. Slowly he got to his feet, and padded over to his leader and the 2 kits. "Hello," he mewed politely, slightly ducking his head at Taintedstar and acknowleging his authouritive(sp?) presence. Looking over at the two kits, he quickly noticed that Hazelkit was larger, and realized that she was probably the 6-moon-old. He, of course, knew every kit in the camp, as he visited the nursery a lot, but had solemly sworn never to keep track of thier age, so when a kit turned 6 moons old, it was a surprise. Cirruskit looked slightly put-out, so he gazed tenderly at him for a moment before speaking to his leader. "Taintedstar, is Hazelkit 6 moons old?" he asked, just to make sure. "Because if she is, I would be more than happy to take her as an apprentice." Moonriver blinked his aqua-blue eyes, waiting hopefully for an answer, preferrably a positive one.

(stretched and authorative I think....)
Hazelkit was silent through the quiet fiasco. She had never truly known any of the warriors besides Nightrain, who had desperatly searched for a queen to take Hazelkit, when he found her by the river. She had no scent on her, only sickness. Why would no one take her? Because of her scent. Hazelkit was lucky to be alive. As Hazelkit wondered about her unknown past, Nightrain walked to the scenario. He had always wanted an apprentice, who wouldn't? But if there was one kit whom Nightrain did not want, it was Hazelkit. The squirt had known Nightrain too long, and he knew all too well that she wouldn't take her training seriously when she was around him. The black tom knew that usually fathers, well in his case he was a father to Hazelkit in a way, got to train their kits and kin. But Nightrain, even though he thought of this kit as his own, wanted Hazelkit to have a real mentor, one whom she would pay attention to during training. One whom she would learn the Warrior Code from. Not him.

Moonriver kneaded his paws in anticipation. How long would his leader keep him waiting? Impatient, he sheathed and unsheathed his claws, each time a soft shink was heard, as you would hear for the unsheathing of a dagger. His nearly solid white pelt bushed up a bit, but only barely. As he flicked his snowy tail side to side, small clouds of dust shook out. The bright sun heated his pelt slowly, and he twitched an ear in impatientness and annoyance. A silent breeze rippled past, and a leaf just behind him floated up gently. Moonriver turned his head slightly, partly to find out what it was, and partly to amuse himself, if but for a second. Upon glancing back, a cat caught in the edge of his vision. He angled his head slightly, and noticed Nightrain. Moonriver mewed a small greeting, but then snapped back to attention to his leader.

The RiverClan leader's attention immediately swung to Moonriver as the white-pelted tom padded into the small area.Taintedstar blinked in acknowledgement to his request, and put it in her mind to think about it. Then she saw Nightrain. The Maine Coon knew that this cat and Hazelkit were somewhat close,so she decided it would be far better to have somebody knew to mentor Hazelkit, probably Moonriver,as noted before. Her dark amber optics switched from Nightrain to the white-pelted warrior, then to Hazelkit. Her gaze softened when her opticals rested on the kit. This would possibly be the event that could change the young kit's life. The wrong choice could leave the young feline in a tangled mess. That's why she simply nodded and said, "We shall host the apprentice ceremony at once." And with a flick of her long tail, she turned around and stalked towards the direction of camp, her paws leaving small prints into the soft soil and marking where the young leader had walked.

((Does that mean yes? Yeah!!!! *Dances*))
Moonriver immediately leapt up and followed his leader. It was a funny thing how one could switch from anticipation to excitement in a single bound. Moonriver's white pelt shone in the sun, glowing like his newly achieved pride. His dusty paws effortlessly padded over the dry ground to reach the stone from which his leader would adress the clan. Suddenly, he stopped and looked over at his soon-to-be apprentice, Hazelpaw. His kind saphirre eyes swept over her, evaluating how he would train her. Judging by the way she usually acted high-strung and jumpy, he realized she would be quite a challenge. A small bit of panic swept over his face, before it was replaced with determination. Moonriver could use a challenge. Slowly, his paws began to take movement and he gradually approached the rock. He shivered in excitement. An apprentice at last!
