((Seriously! Lol. Let's have some fun!))
Hope whirled, startled at the sudden appearance of the elderly she-cat. Old what's-her-name? Ashfur! That's right! The playful she-cat grinned and nodded her head in agreement to Ashfur's first question, "Haven't you got something better to do than imitate a rabbit?"
"Of course I do!" she cried cheerfully. "I could imitate a bird!" So saying, Hope leaping into the air, all four paws spread wide in the air. She flapped them unsuccessfully, before thumping to the ground. With a groan she sat up, "Guess I'm not built to be a bird," she commented, eyes sparkling with mischeif.

The old warrior could feel a laugh fighting to get out as she heard the two she-cats' replies, but she fought it back down. It was now quite apparent in her sparkling blue optics as she slowly began to circle the younger warrior. Hope, that's what her friend had called her. The gray she-cat hesitated. Did she believe in StarClan? Her name suggested that she didn't, and yet, did it really matter? She was of RiverClan, so Ashfur would treat her as such. She continued her game.
After she had made a complete circle, she nodded. "No wonder you two are creating the usual mayhem. A cat like you imitating birds and rabbits! It's quite obvious that you were born to be a squirrel, if you ignore the fact that both your parents are cats." With a glance over at Twilightpaw, she continued now in a scolding voice, "Now, I don't want to catch you imitating birds anymore, because if I do you'll find yourself back in apprenticeship, looking after the elders with Twilightpaw here, you understand? Now let's look at you here..." She began to circle the apprentice, muttering to herself as she did. At last she stopped. "You'd better not even think of being a squirrel. You are definitely a vole, which will make it a little hard if you have to defend RiverClan territory, but is otherwise a fine creature to be. Remember that when you finally get out to train today." With all that said, Ashfur sat down to watch the two younger felines for a moment. All through her "observations" her voice had sounded dead serious and she hadn't so much as hinted at a smile. Now it was time to watch how they played along.

The black and white pelted cat stood still for a moment, deep blue eyes staring almost vacantly into the eyes of the elder. Suddenly she sank swiftly to the ground, and wriggled her nose, as if inspecting a seed of some sort, then sat on her haunches, and brought her paws to her jaw in a nibbling motion. For quite awhile she imitated scuttling through the grass, and eating more seeds. While in the middle of eating the seed to the mind's eye, Twilightpaw released a high-pitched squeal, then fell in a heap to the ground, tongue lolling out to the side of her mouth. Jumping to her paws, the young she-cat mewed wistfully, "Oh, I don't know why I wasn't just born a vole!" [[Sorreh, crappish post ]]

(('Tis okay.))
Hope grinned, speckled cranium turned at abnormal angles to watch the elderly she-cat circle her. Her extremely large ears stood perked, listening to Ashfur's comments. The speckled cat grinned cheekily, leaping away on all fours. A strange, croaking/burping sound came from the feline's furry chest. "Now I'm a frog!" she mewed in delight, apparently taking no heed to Ashfur's words.
The leapfroging was cut short, however, as Hope heard Twilightpaw's comments. "Oh, I wouldn't wish to be a vole," she mewed, suddenly serious. She paused, before springing forward, "'Cuz then I'd have to eat you!"

A high-pitched chuckle erupted from the apprentice's throat, as her bright blue eyes watched Hope leap around on all fours. As her warrior friend suddenly switched her tone to serious, she tilted her head questioningly. But when the speckled she-cat's answer shot back at her, the black and white she-cat grinned.
Scrambling quickly in a tight circle, she squealed out pleas of mercy, "Oh please cat, don't eat me! I'm far too small a meal for a big cat like you! I think you would rather eat," Twilightpaw looked all around her for another victim, when a wicked smile drew over her face. "Ashfur! She would make a much better meal then me!"
As she lay belly-up on the ground, she tried to look innocent, but it didn't really work like that.

The aging she-cat still looked as serious as ever as she watched Hope turn into a vole-eating frog and Twilightpaw insist that the older cat would be a better meal than a vole. With a shake of her stony-gray head, Ashfur looked from one she-cat to the other. "Now don't you be lying like that, Twilightvole. Do you think a frog-cat like Hope would fall for something as silly as that? Everyone knows that an old warrior like me wouldn't be very tasty compared to a fresh young vole like yourself. Now, Hope, let's catch this vole and add her to the fresh-kill pile." As she took a step toward the apprentice, she flicked her tail toward Hope, urging her to follow. Dropping into a hunting crouch, she began to inch forward. A look of total concentration was on her face as readied herself for the "kill". At last, she bunched up her muscles and, powerful back legs pushing off the ground, she leaped into the air, planning to land right beside Twilightpaw the vole. At last a grin broke onto her face as her front paws touched the ground.
((Wouldn't it be hilarious if another cat joined right now? *looks hopeful*))

((Ha ha! I don't think another cat is going to join, though. I've postponed my post, just in case.))
Hope couldn't help making a face as she heard Twilightpaw's suggestion. With a loud "Yuuuck!", the speckled she-cat gagged. "Eew!" she mewed, "She'd be all stringy and old!" Large ears trembled in indignation as Hope turned to the apprentice, "What do you take me for?" she demanded. "I wouldn't eat anything past it's prime." She nodded in agreement to her own statement, "Uh-huh. You know that's right, sista."
Hope then turned to Ashfur, eyes narrowed thoughtfully, "What do you say, Ashfur?" she asked. "Do you think younger meat is better than old meat?"

Turning to face the speckled she-cat, Ashfur said, "Well, personally I like the younger better, but I suppose it all depends on your taste. And during Leaf-bare it doesn't matter which I like more, but rather which is available. But you already knew that, didn't you?" Of course she did, you silly old feline! a voice in her head said, but she simply ignored it. She was having fun with these two she-cats, getting to know them, and getting to play the immature warrior again if only for a few minutes. If there was battle for some reason tomorrow and she died, it would be okay. At least she would have spent the last full day of her life happily getting to know the younger members of RiverClan. This day would probably stay in her mind forever, just as the day she had went hunting with the cocky young tom, Krova would. No matter how much longer she lived, the old gray warrior would be able to go to StarClan with a smile, knowing that she had met these two young she-cats and had had the time of her life with them.
